The State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) has recently announced two official job notifications for the recruitment of 12,600 Class-III and Class-IV Posts under different departments/establishments in the Government of Assam. Posts Name: Grade III and Grade IV
Total Vacancies: 12,600 Nos. (Tentative)
- Grade III: 7600 posts
- Grade IV: 5000 posts

Pay Scale: The pay band and grade pay of the post as per Assam Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 2017 and as amended.

Assam Direct Recruitment: Educational Qualification
The Category-wise educational qualification is as mentioned below:
Grade-IV or Class-IV

| HSLC with ITI pass certificate in the trade of wireman, electrician, fitter, welder, machinist, Electronics Mechanic | 1990 |

Maximum Qualification: The maximum eligibility qualification for all Class-IV posts shall be HSSLC (Class-12) or equivalent examination passed, and those who have educational qualifications higher than this maximum eligibility educational qualification on the date of application shall not be eligible to apply for these vacancies.
Grade III (Category-I)
Post Name: Accountant, Cashier, Junior Assistant, LDA, Stenographer, etc.
Total Vacancies: 4,055 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed:-
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/ Diploma of minimum 6 months duration.
- Bachelor’s Degree with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration and Stenography Certificate from a recognized Institute.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science with Computer Certificate/Diploma of minimum 6(six) months duration from a recognized Institute.
Grade-III (Category-II)
Post Name: Field Assistant, Fieldman, Foreman, Section Assistant, Soil Conservation Field Worker Junior, Agriculture Extension Officer, etc.
Total vacancies: 3,127 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed:-
- HSSLC or equivalent Examination.
- HSSLC (Science) Examination.
Grade III (Category III)
Post Name: Driver
Total Vacancies: 418 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed:-
- HSLC or equivalent examination with valid LMV Driving Licence.

Selection Process of Assam Direct Recruitment 2023
There shall be two parts of the selection process – A written test and an Interview.
The scheme of examination shall be strictly as per the “Assam Direct Recruitment for Class-lll and Class-IV Analogous Posts Rules, 2022” as amended from time to time. Further, this scheme will be published at least one week before the conduct of written test.
