Salary: The initial engagement of GDS is made in the following basic TRCA Slabs:
- BPM: Rs.12,000-Rs.29,380/-
- ABPM/Dak Sevaks: Rs.10,000-Rs.24,470/-
Educational Qualification:
- The educational qualification for engagement of GDS is Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India.
Local Language: The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to 10th Standard from a recognized board.

- Knowledge of computer
- Knowledge of cycling
- Adequate means of livelihood
Selection Process of India Post Recruitment 2024
For the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) in the India Post, the applicants will be shortlisted for engagement on the basis of a system-generated merit list.
The Merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained/ conversion of Grades/Points to marks in the Secondary School Examination of 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.
